X-Plane 9 Flight Simulator for the iPad (Review)

Written by on July 25th, 2010

X-Plane is a log-time flight simulator on the Mac/PC and now is available on the iPad. Following on the iPhone/iPod Touch version, the X-Plane 9 for the iPad takes full advantage of the larger screen for a pretty cool simulator.

The grapichs and simulation is very bad respect a PC game, well, X-plane 9 is bad too on PC, if you want a real flight simulator for PC the best is Flight Simulator X with expancion pack: Acceleration!!

is there a way you can control the plate with out tilting the pad around, like a on screen touch joystick ???

  10. wwwinsanelygreatmac Says:

    @vaughnturf Oh yeah…

  11. vaughnturf Says:

    Can you ur plane crash?

  12. devilquak Says:

@oskArtist Ya that would be cool. But you can use your iPhone as a joystick for your Mac/PC X-Plane game. $5 app from Laminar Research.

  13. arthurandersonrocks Says:

@Brandontrex20 Laminar Research is pretty good at keeping all of their updates (no matter what they are) free. I have every X-Plane app for iPhone and the updates are great and free! and they added great planes for free. So I personally think that they will not charge for the new planes when they get released.

can you do a video tutorial for the instrument approach?

  15. TheSloth9 Says:

allmost same grapichs like pc :O

  16. wwwinsanelygreatmac Says:

@Brandontrex20 I don’t know, but usually all updates are free up to the next version, so should be unless they’re a part of X-Plane 10 app.

  17. Brandontrex20 Says:

Do you think it will cost money to get the new planes when they are released or will they be free

  18. digitalpwnage Says:

@oskArtist Yeh, That’d be freakin awesome!

  19. wwwinsanelygreatmac Says:

@GoldenHeartedTV Yeah, you can. There’s no wheel control, but it seems it’s combined with the ailerons.

  20. appletree0124 Says:

@SSLFan dang, that costs $350! You are so pro!

  21. appletree0124 Says:

    whoa.

  22. GoldenHeartedTV Says:

    can you taxi?

  23. Tankema123 Says:

@oskArtist that would be freaking awesome. best idea ever
